Enhancing the Top Leader’s Behavioural Capabilities!
Situation/Problem
A premier general authority in Saudi Arabia with a significant role in enhancing economic and social development, our client had a critical strategic target to develop its capabilities to be proficient in achieving the Kingdom’s vision 2030.
The critical objectives our client sought to achieve faced significant obstacles that increased the expectations for how leaders should contribute to help obtain the necessary goals. In light of that, the client’s HR team recognized the importance of coaching and preparing first the organisation’s Senior Executive Officer with the right behaviours congruent with the strategic direction and exploiting the right management and leadership style to lead successfully organisation, and subsequently to initiate coaching projects for other levels of leaders.
Client Needs
In order to prepare and equip the CEO to overcome different challenges, the client focused on establishing a leadership coaching project to improve the CEO’s perception towards his options and goals and to provide him with the balance he needed to lead with a more qualified leadership style so that he can enhance organisation’s performance to rise to the challenges and meet the strategic goals.
The client’s HR team sought support to prepare a Senior Executives Officer for a coaching project on an individual basis with the following expectations:
- Launching an initial assessment to measure the level of leadership competencies and determining the benchmark to measure the level of progress during and after the leadership coaching process.
- Building and linking the competencies and leadership coaching process to their work environment and objectives.
- Giving periodic reports and feedback regarding progress in developing the CEO.
TTM Solution
TTM Associates proposed the Leadership Coaching and Development Project to develop the CEO’s leadership behaviours by considering and utilising the needed skills aligned with the CEO role competencies, to develop a proficient leader.
The TTM team developed, identified and successfully established 4 core phases and a core culture of career coaching. TTM’s approach outlined below, illustrates how each stage builds on another for a comprehensive approach and to ensure sufficient results:
OUTCOME:
Ultimately, the goal of a Leadership Coaching and Development project was to help the CEO become a more effective leader, able to inspire and motivate others, make sound decisions, and achieve his and the organisation’s goals in a challenging and dynamic environment.
As a result, project achieved the following:
- Over a 6-month period, the coachee underwent about a total of 8 whole-brained competency-based approach coaching sessions.
- A highly experienced coach with international experience conducted the coaching sessions
- A pre and post 180 Degree assessment had been conducted to gauge the growth of the CEO’s performance before and after the coaching sessions to highlight the improved practices which were reflected in the organisation internally throughout the coaching project.
In conclusion, the CEO was equipped with the needed leadership skills translated into behaviours and leadership styles together with refining the existing ones, he became more confident and more balanced in his role and life, grasped the way to build and manage a cohesive team appropriately. At the same time, he cultivated his behaviour towards excellence in business, aiming to increase productivity within a harmonized organisation that is able to move in a single, united, aligned, and engaged flow to overcome different challenges.
